DIY easy ribbon wreath

I originally made this as a Christmas wreath, but now that I see it again, it works just as well as a Valentine’s Day wreath. It’s the easiest project I’ve done so far.

Admittedly, it looks candy caney. But that’s the beauty of this project: You can choose any ribbons you want. Switch up the colors and patterns, and you could make one of these for every holiday.

This wreath requires very few supplies, and it’s easy to make as long as you can tie a bow. And if you get the ribbon on clearance after Christmas, it’s quite inexpensive.

How to make a ribbon wreath

SUPPLIES & TOOLS

12-inch metal ring (found at Joann)
24 yards of wired ribbon (I used 1½-inch ribbon—8 yards of each pattern)
fabric scissors
wreath hanger or Command Adhesive hook

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Tie bows—36 of them to be exact. If you don’t know how to tie a good bow, you’ll be a pro at it by the time you’re done. It took me about an hour and a half to tie all 36 bows. Tie each bow before cutting the ribbon. That way, you can cut the tail to exactly the right length.

Tip: Use one, three, or more different ribbons. Two ribbons looks a bit stripey, as you can see in this how-to picture.
